To cancel Rocket Money, open Settings (the gear icon), select Membership, tap Manage Membership, drag the price slider all the way left to $0/month and tap Cancel Subscription. The cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle, and you keep Premium features until then. Cancelling Premium does not delete your Rocket Money account or stop its alerts; deleting the account is a separate step under Settings → Profile.
That is the whole answer for most people. The rest of this guide covers the parts the quick answers skip: what changes if you are on Premium+, what to download before you cancel, and the order to do things in if you want to leave Rocket Money completely rather than just stop paying.

How do I cancel Rocket Money Premium in the app?
You cancel Rocket Money Premium in the mobile app by setting your price to $0. Rocket Money uses a pay-what-you-choose slider for Premium, and the same slider is the cancel button. The steps, as Rocket Money's own help center lists them:
Rocket Money asks you to follow a few prompts after that. If one of them offers a lower price instead, you can take it — the slider works in both directions — but if you want out, keep confirming until the app tells you Premium is cancelled.
If you are still inside the 7-day free trial, cancel before it ends. Rocket Money's pricing article says that once the trial finishes, "your monthly subscription continues at the price you selected during signup."
How do I cancel Rocket Money on the website?
The website route is the same idea with slightly different labels:
Either route does the same thing. You do not need to do both.
What if the charge comes from Apple or Google Play?
Look at where the Rocket Money charge actually appears before you go hunting through menus. Rocket Money's payment-method help article says Premium is paid from a linked checking account, and that it does not accept credit cards or prepaid cards. If your charge shows up as a debit from your checking account, the in-app slider above is the right place to cancel.
If instead you see Rocket Money on an Apple or Google Play receipt, the subscription is being billed by the store, and stores have to be told directly. Rocket Money's help center notes that Apple's security measures stop it from cancelling Apple-billed subscriptions on anyone's behalf. On an iPhone or iPad: open Settings, tap your name, select Subscriptions, pick the subscription, tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. On Google Play, cancel from the Play Store's own subscriptions screen.
Cancelling Premium+ works differently
Premium+ is Rocket Money's top tier, a fixed $15/month plus tax, and it bundles three things that Premium does not: Rowan (an AI assistant you text), access to a High-Yield Savings Account, and Bill Negotiations with no success fee. Leaving it has knock-on effects that a plain Premium cancellation does not:
Rocket Money's help center does not publish a separate step-by-step for cancelling Premium+ entirely. Start in Settings → Membership; if the $0 slider is not offered for your plan, use the in-app chat and ask for the cancellation in writing.
Does cancelling Rocket Money delete your account?
No. Cancelling Rocket Money Premium only stops the paid membership. Rocket Money's help article is explicit on three points: cancelling Premium does not delete your account, any active Bill Negotiations stay in place, and notifications and emails continue unless you change your alert settings.
The reverse trap catches people too: unlinking your bank does not cancel Premium. Rocket Money's disconnecting article says so in as many words. If you remove your accounts first and assume the billing stops, it will not.
If you want Rocket Money gone entirely, the help center asks you to do three things before deleting: cancel Premium, cancel any active bill negotiations, and close any active Financial Goals. Then:
Deletion permanently erases your Rocket Money data and cannot be undone. It does not touch any other Rocket account, such as a Rocket Mortgage account.
The full exit, in the right order
If you are leaving rather than pausing, order matters, because one of the steps is only available while you are still paying.
| Step | What it does | What it does not do | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Export your transactions | Downloads your transaction history for a chosen time period | Nothing to undo; do it first, because data export is listed as a Premium feature | In Rocket Money, while Premium is still active |
| 2. Stop bill negotiations | Turns off future renegotiation attempts for a service | Does not refund a fee on a negotiation that has already succeeded | App → Ways to Save → Manage/History → toggle off; or email negotiations@rocketmoney.com |
| 3. Cancel Premium | Ends billing at the end of the cycle | Does not delete the account, unlink banks or stop alerts | Settings → Membership → Manage → slider to $0 |
| 4. Unlink banks (optional) | Removes the institution and all its history from Rocket Money | Does not cancel Premium | Settings → Linked Accounts → Unlink |
| 5. Delete the account (optional) | Permanently erases your Rocket Money data | Cannot be reversed; does not affect other Rocket accounts | Settings → Profile → Delete |
Step 1 is the one most guides leave out. Rocket Money's list of Premium features includes data export for specific time periods, so export before you cancel, not after. Even if you never open the file again, a year of categorised transactions is a useful starting point wherever you go next.
How can I contact Rocket Money customer support?
The fastest route is the in-app chat. You can also email support@rocketmoney.com from the address on your account; Rocket Money lists support hours as Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm Eastern. For a subscription that Rocket Money was cancelling on your behalf, the address is cancellations@rocketmoney.com, and for bill negotiations it is negotiations@rocketmoney.com.
One inconsistency worth knowing: Rocket Money's general contact article says all support is provided digitally, while its Premium+ article lists phone support as a Premium+ benefit. If you are on Premium+ and want a phone call, ask in chat; otherwise plan on chat or email.
